eXia - école supérieure d'informatique du groupe Cesi

Exia (Ecole Superieure d'Informatique Appliquee) is Groupe Cesi's Applied Information Technology School. It offers a five years curriculum based on innovative teaching techniques designed for a new generation of computer specialists.

The school's objectives

An Exia graduate's chief quality is his or her strong technical knowledge. He or she is autonomous, able to integrate teams, work through platforms, deal with heterogeneity and interoperability. He or she is skilled in project management and team work. He or she can communicate effectively and sell his or her solutions.

What the school opens to

Exia prepares for careers in information technology, both in the branch of software development (software design, solution development, IT project management, programming) and that of networks (network engineering, architecture design, consulting, security management).

Active learning

Exia is first and foremost a school with active learning methods aiming to immerse the students in real-life company situations so that they can develop the skills they will need as soon as they start their professional lives. Designed in partnership with Universite du Quebec à Montreal, this approach follows the principles of Problem Based Learning (PBL) techniques. It helps students not only to learn the professional reflexes of IT specialists, but also to 'learn how to learn'.

Monitored projects

A sizable part of the training is dedicated to projects in small-groups, monitored by a specialized supervisor.

Clubs and societies

The students manage their own sports, cultural or leisure activities through various associations of which they are completely in charge.

Diplomas

The school proposes 2 programmes :

  • The initial programme is for secondary school graduates or students who have completed one year at university. It leads to a state-recognised level III (undergraduate) diploma.
  • The advanced programme is for Level III (undergraduate) students with an Advanced Technician's or a University Technology diploma and leads to a certified level II diploma (post graduate).
